Recognition
Arthur Goodrich occupies a rare position in Northern California's luxury real estate landscape: equally fluent in the culture, neighborhoods, and nuances of both San Francisco and Wine Country, and equally at home in both. As founder of The Goodrich Group at Sotheby's International Realty, he serves a clientele that often moves fluidly between these two worlds: the Pacific Heights residence and the Napa Valley retreat, the city career and the vineyard estate, the life being lived and the one being envisioned. For those clients, having a single trusted advisor who knows both markets with genuine depth is not a convenience—it is a distinct advantage.
That dual fluency is rooted in lived experience. Drawn to the singular beauty and rhythm of life in Northern California, Arthur Goodrich has called San Francisco home since 1989 and the Napa Valley since 2011, building deep professional and personal relationships across both markets. Today, with an active and expanding presence in each, he bridges Northern California's two most coveted luxury destinations with an intimacy that few advisors can genuinely claim.
Before entering real estate, Arthur spent three decades in corporate leadership—most notably in medical technology and healthcare services, where he led national sales organizations, directed complex strategic initiatives, and played a central role in one of the sector's most significant exits: a landmark sale to Stryker Corporation in 2009. That discipline of rigorous preparation, precise positioning, and high-stakes negotiation now informs every transaction he guides, whether in the city or the valley.
Since launching his real estate career in 2020, Arthur has become one of Napa Valley's most trusted advisors—achieving over $30 million in sales in his first year and surpassing $150 million within four years, a trajectory recognized by his brokerage as a Top 100 Agent at Sotheby's International Realty and RealTrends as among the best in the country for three consecutive years. His approach is consistent regardless of market: prepare meticulously, position strategically, and negotiate with both insight and discretion.
Arthur's Wine Country roots run deeper still. After purchasing his first Napa property while living in San Francisco, he founded Mayastoga Property Group, a highly regarded luxury vacation rental and concierge service representing over 25 exceptional homes throughout the Valley. That endeavor cultivated an intimate knowledge of the region's properties, people, and possibilities, along with lasting relationships with vintners, designers, and property owners that now serve his real estate clients in ways that extend well beyond the transaction.
For clients navigating the natural intersection of city and Wine Country life—whether selling a San Francisco home to anchor a Napa estate, or seeking a city residence to complement a primary home in the valley—Arthur offers something genuinely rare: one advisor, two markets, and the understanding that these decisions are rarely just about property. They are about how and where one chooses to live.
Originally from Texas (born in Midland, raised in Houston), Arthur holds a B.S. in Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University and a Certificate in Real Estate Finance from Harvard Extension. He maintains residences in San Francisco and Calistoga.
